Lamy Safari Charcoal

Lamy Safari

The Lamy Safari and Vista are a great range of pens.

I probably have half a dozen in various colours and a mixture of nibs, but when I saw the matte version in Charcoal I had to have one. It isa handsome pen alright, up to the minute, fashionable colour, I would say it is the best looker in the range.

For a change I thought that I’d try one of Lamy’s italic nibs,, and why not?
So I decided on a 1.1 Italic, and here it is. Lamy steel nibs are pretty plain affairs, and this one is no different, just imprinted LAMY amd 1.1, but then , wahat else do you need?

Most, if not all my other italic nibs perform well and give a crisp wet line, but not this one. Because its so dry, the line doesn’t appear as sharp. In terms of performance, a bit of a disappointment so far; my other Lamy nibs write with quite a wet line, but this is very dry. I’m fiddling with it to try and improve matters but no luck as yet.
I’ll update the post as things progress, but it’s a neat looking pen despite the nib.
